Below are just a few of the services we offer. Please call us at 615-781-8645 if you have any questions or concerns about our services.

Environmental Assessments:

The most frequent request we get is an Assessment for moisture and mold. The Assessment begins with a thorough inspection of the property. Moisture readings or thermal images are taken from floors, walls & ceilings to determine potential hidden contaminants. From this inspection, we can determine what parts of the property to test. Samples are retrieved & sent to a professional laboratory for analysis. The results of the inspection & testing are reviewed & specific recommendations made for your home or building.

Mold Removal & Remediation:

Treatment and removal of mold-damaged materials includes using HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filtration vacuuming, aggressive cleaning and non-toxic disinfectant cleaning solutions. The surrounding environment is cleaned & dried using commercial dehumidifiers & HEPA air scrubbers.

Preventative measures are applied or installed to protect the property from future mold growth:

  • Sealed vapor barriers in crawl spaces and cellars.
  • Exhaust ventilation systems for basements and crawl spaces.
  • Anti-microbial coatings on exposed wood framing.
Foundation insulation with closed cell foam.

Radon Mitigation:

HIT Environmental is a Residential Mitigation Provider with certified technicians that have demonstrated knowledge of radon mitigation techniques as applied to residential structures. Although this classification is specific for reducing radon in buildings similar to homes, it does not preclude the individual's ability to apply these skills to larger buildings. Certified radon mitigation service providers have also agreed to abide the U.S. Radon Mitigation Standards, EPA 402-R-93-078, October 1993 (Revised April 1994).
